DUE DATE: June 6th.

If selected to be Chaplain, you will have the joy and responsibility of telling people about the love and grace of God through devotions, prayers, and conversations in a wide variety of settings. The Chaplain is the spiritual ambassador for LCY, the Executive Council, and the Youth Ministry Cabinet.

The Chaplain is a rising Junior or Senior who is part of the SCLCY Executive Council, which is the governing body of LCY, with both voice and vote. The Chaplain is responsible for helping to maintain the focus on God's presence and plan, to attend all Youth Ministry Cabinet and Executive Council meetings, Winter Retreats, and Convention to provide devotions for those gatherings. This means that you will be required to be at ALL Executive Council and Cabinet meetings, ALL Winter Retreats, LCY Convention BOTH this year AND next year, and as many of the other events as possible. If you can't commit to this, please don't apply.

One of the wonderful ways the Chaplain gets to serve is by leading devotions and assisting with worship at our SCLCY Winter Retreats, Service Events, and at SCLCY Convention. The Chaplain will work with the Assistant to the Bishop and other members of the Youth Ministry Cabinet to write these devotions and learn to embrace and voice their own experiences of faith with focus on scripture being their guide.

This position is unique and is a tremendous opportunity to grow in faith and leadership.
